Anthony Joseph Presti, a young man known for his unwavering determination and passionate heart, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2025, at the age of 22 in Braidwood, Illinois.
Born on April 17, 2003, in Downers Grove, IL, Anthony was the firstborn son of Dino and Kathleen Presti. He grew up in Plainfield, IL, and made his mark early on, graduating from Joliet West High School, where he was actively involved in football and wrestling. His commitment to teamwork and resilience shone both in sports and in life.
An accomplished and hardworking individual, Anthony’s dedication carried over into his career. By the age of 18, he had purchased his first car, and by 20, he had bought his first home. Anthony worked as a union auto mechanic with the IAMAW Mechanics Union Local 701 and later as a union carpenter with Local 174. His passion for craftsmanship and mechanical work reflected his meticulous nature and creative spirit.
Those closest to him will remember his warm heart, dedication, and strong work ethic. He is survived by his parents, Dino and Kathleen, his brother, Nicholas Steven Presti, his grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carmelo Presti and Karen Perry.
Anthony’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Shorewood, IL, with visitation on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded following services, as per his wishes.
