Jose Vidal, a beloved individual from El Salvador, passed away after a courageous battle with acute leukemia.
At 40 years old, Jose had lived in Austin, TX, for the past four years. He came to the United States with the hopes of building a better life for his son and family. Diagnosed with diabetes 20 years ago, Jose’s health struggles intensified when, just four months ago, doctors discovered the presence of cancer in his blood.
He fought valiantly, undergoing multiple rounds of chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and platelet transfusions. Despite the toll it took on his body, Jose remained determined, holding onto his faith in God. He faced every day with unwavering strength, even as the treatment left him exhausted, with low red and white blood cell counts, severe fatigue, and unbearable pain.
Jose’s strength was evident in his words, “I trust in God that cancer will not defeat me.” He continued to fight despite his worsening condition, sharing his journey with others and expressing gratitude for any support, whether through donations or prayers.
His passing leaves a profound void, but his spirit and resilience will be remembered by all who knew him.
