Adnan Kawuma Remembered By Mystic Rugby Community After Unexpected Passing Announced On Monday, 15 June 2026
Adnan Kawuma died unexpectedly this morning, Monday, 15 June 2026, according to a fundraiser created by Mystic Rugby for the Mystic Rugby Foundation.
Adnan came to the United States from Kampala, Uganda, and joined Mystic River Rugby Club at age 16.
Over more than two decades, Adnan became a respected figure in American rugby and helped Mystic River win the 2016 USA Rugby Division I National Championship against the Austin Blacks.
Mystic Rugby described Adnan as a champion, mentor, teammate, sibling, and friend who gave time to youth programs and encouraged young players to keep working hard.
The fundraiser had raised $7,185 toward a $22,000 goal through 29 donations and aims to support Adnan’s mother, Christine, and brother, Morsheen.
