Dean Gross Remembered After Five-Month-Old Infant Dies Following Anderson Home Incident On Wilson Street

Dean Gross, a five-month-old infant from the Gross family, died on Friday, May 16, 2026, after a household dog incident at a residence on Wilson Street in Anderson, South Carolina.

Anderson Police officers responded around 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, and emergency responders transported Dean and an adult to AnMed ER.

Medical staff later flew Dean by helicopter to Prisma Health in Greenville, where efforts to save the infant continued.

The Anderson County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Dean died from multiple traumatic injuries and classified the manner of death as accidental.

The adult received treatment and left medical care afterward.

Officers later located and secured the dog near Cater’s Lake as the investigation continued.

Thomas and Natalie Gross, Dean’s parents, received community support through a GoFundMe campaign titled “Love and Support for the Gross Family,” which raised over $35,000.

Details regarding memorial services will be announced at a later time, and family members will share obituary and funeral service information soon.
