Katherine Torbick, 43, Remembered After Being Found Dead During April 30 Welfare Check At Schaumburg Home
Katherine Torbick, 43, was found dead inside a home on the 1700 block of Weathersfield Way in Schaumburg, Illinois, after officers responded to a welfare check around 9:20 p.m. on April 30, 2026.
Authorities said Torbick was unresponsive when officers entered the residence and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the cause as strangulation and ruled the death a homicide.
Investigators said a person who knew Torbick was inside the home when officers arrived, and officials had not confirmed formal charges at the time of the May 4, 2026 report.
Police said the matter appeared isolated and that they did not believe the public faced an ongoing threat.
