Kosciusko, Mississippi Mourns the Loss of 16-Year-Old Nina Dillon After Tragic Stabbing Incident

The community of Kosciusko, Mississippi is grappling with the sudden loss of 16-year-old Nina Dillon, who tragically passed away on March 30th, 2026, following a violent confrontation.

At around 4:15 p.m. on that fateful Monday afternoon, Dillon became involved in an altercation with 15-year-old Ta’khia Fletcher on Lucas Street, a residential area in Kosciusko. What began as a dispute quickly escalated into violence, and Dillon was fatally stabbed. Neighbors who heard the chaos called for help, and first responders arrived promptly to transport Dillon to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Attala. Despite the medical staff's best efforts, Dillon was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Fletcher was taken into custody at the scene and is now facing a murder charge. She is being held without bond at the Leake County Correctional Facility. Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive for the incident, and the investigation continues under the guidance of Kosciusko Police Chief Greg Collins.

Friends and family remember Dillon as a bright and kind young woman, with her whole life ahead of her. Close friends shared fond memories of her warmth, humor, and the way she brightened even the smallest moments. Her family expressed their devastation in a public message, acknowledging the unbearable pain of their loss.
