Shelby Rae Caruso, Beloved Daughter, Wife, and Sister, Passes Away at 28 in Rippey, IA
Shelby Rae Caruso of Rippey, Iowa, tragically passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 28. Her untimely death has left family and friends in deep sorrow.
Shelby was predeceased by her grandparents, Marilyn Millard and Ted Johnson, and her great-uncle LaVere Derry. She is survived by her parents, Penny Scott (Millard) and Bradley Caruso (Kelley), her husband Steve, her sister Kara Bittner (Keith), and her sibling's children, Caspian, Raddex, and Lydia, all of Adel. Shelby was also cherished by her grandparents, George Millard of Rippey, Janet Scott of Des Moines, and Connie Johnson (Paul Levesque) of Nauvoo, Illinois.
Shelby’s warm and caring presence will be greatly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends who are left to mourn her loss.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Rippey United Methodist Church, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to Shelby’s mother, Penny Scott.
Shelby’s life was full of love and kindness, and she will always be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
