Adarius Glees, Beloved Community Member, Tragically Shot and Killed Outside Downtown St. Paul Apartment, Leaving Loved Ones in Mourning

The St. Paul community is mourning the loss of Adarius Glees, 27, who was fatally shot late Thursday night near the 200 block of East Seventh Street close to Sibley Street.

Police responded around 8:50 p.m. after reports of gunfire and found Glees outside an apartment building suffering from a gunshot wound.

In a heartbreaking turn, Glees called 911 himself seeking urgent help before officers and paramedics arrived. Despite immediate aid and being rushed to Regions Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

Friends and family described Glees, also known as KC “CallmeBenji,” as someone who deeply touched the lives of those around him. Social media tributes poured in, with one comment stating, "He was such a light in our lives. We will never forget him," reflecting the profound grief shared across the community.

Authorities confirmed the shooting remains under active investigation, and no arrests have been made. Officials have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat.

Memorial services and funeral arrangements will be announced by Glees’ family, allowing the community to honor his memory and celebrate the impact he had on those who knew him.
