Bradrick Michael Wells, a 27-year-old from La Plata, MD, tragically lost his life after being shot during a confrontation inside a car on the night of March 22, 2026.
Wells, who was described as a quiet and well-loved member of his community, had been riding with his friend Dayton James Webber when a heated argument escalated into violence. According to police, Webber, who was driving the vehicle, fired a single shot that struck Wells in the head. Witnesses in the back seat fled after Webber stopped the car near Llano Drive, refusing to assist with moving Wells.
The tragic event unfolded just after 10:25 p.m., with emergency responders arriving too late to save Wells. Nearly two hours later, a body was discovered in Charlotte Hall, and Wells was pronounced dead at the scene.
As authorities tracked Webber's movements across state lines, they located him in Charlottesville, VA, where he was receiving medical treatment. Webber was arrested upon his release and now faces serious charges, including first-degree and second-degree murder.
