Chatanna Ohiyesha Patterson Remembered After Fatal Fulton County Gas Station Crash During Interstate 20 Pursuit

Chatanna Ohiyesha Patterson, 51, died Monday afternoon, May 25, 2026, after a fleeing driver entered a Fulton County gas station parking lot and struck a parked vehicle near where Patterson stood.

Authorities said the incident began around 2:40 p.m. on Interstate 20 westbound when a Georgia State Patrol trooper tried to stop a Hyundai Elantra traveling near 90 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone.

Officials identified the driver as 26-year-old Fre’shun Tyai White of Marietta, and said the vehicle later exited at the Hill Street ramp before entering the gas station lot at high speed.

Patterson was pronounced dead at the scene, and three other people received hospital care after the wreck.

White remains in custody and faces charges that include first-degree vehicular homicide and serious injury by vehicle.

Family and friends are mourning Patterson’s sudden loss, and memorial and funeral service details will be announced later by relatives.
