Joshua Back, 34, Tragically Passes Away in Fatal Car Crash in Liberty Township, OH
Joshua Back, a 34-year-old resident of Fairfield Township, Ohio, tragically lost his life in a fatal car crash on the evening of March 26, 2026.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. in Liberty Township when Back's Mazda6 collided head-on with a Ford F-150 near Ohio 129. He was rushed to the University of Cincinnati West Chester Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just before 6 p.m.
According to the Butler County Coroner’s Office, the accident was preceded by reckless driving. Back had been driving south on Ohio 747 when he sideswiped a silver SUV while attempting a turn. He then performed a U-turn and continued on his way before the fatal head-on collision.
The occupants of the Ford F-150 were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the SUV was unharmed.
The Butler County Sheriff's Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, and details regarding memorial services will be announced in the coming days.
