Lieutenant Jesse Lee, Dedicated Waycross Police Leader and Community Advocate, Passes Away Suddenly at 43
Lieutenant Jesse Lee passed away unexpectedly at the age of 43, leaving the Waycross community in profound grief.
Jesse served with the Waycross Police Department since October 29, 2014, and rose to lead the Training and Personnel Unit through steady leadership and deep commitment.
Colleagues described Jesse as “a leader and officer we could always depend on to get the job done,” adding that the department is better because of Jesse’s service.
Beyond law enforcement, Jesse built meaningful connections within the Dungeons and Dragons community, where kindness and encouragement shaped every interaction.
Community members remembered Jesse as someone who welcomed others, offered guidance, and made people feel valued without seeking recognition.
Jesse leaves behind a spouse, Mary, and children, who now face both emotional loss and financial challenges.
A fundraiser organized by Brandon Moore has begun to support the family with funeral and living expenses during this difficult time.
One supporter shared that Jesse was “one of the kindest, most genuine people you could ever meet,” reflecting the widespread admiration felt by many.
The Waycross community continues to honor a life defined by service, compassion, and unwavering support for others.
