Lulije Cosentino, a 49-year-old resident of Dixon, Illinois, passed away Wednesday morning, June 11, 2026, after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 39 near Minonk.
Authorities said emergency crews responded at about 9:49 a.m. to the southbound lanes near Mile Marker 22 after reports of a serious collision.
Investigators said Cosentino drove one of the vehicles when another vehicle struck it from behind.
The Woodford County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Cosentino was pronounced deceased at the scene at about 11 a.m.
Officials remained at the location for several hours while they reviewed evidence, examined the vehicles, and worked to understand the moments before the crash.
Authorities have not released details about the second vehicle, and the Woodford County Sheriff’s Department and Coroner’s Office continue to investigate.
