Mary Ellen Edmunds, affectionately known as MEE, passed away in 2026, leaving the Brigham Young University and Latter-day Saint communities in deep mourning.
Edmunds served as a respected nursing instructor at BYU and encouraged students to pursue learning, kindness, purpose, and steady faith.
Edmunds also served as Director of Training at the Provo Missionary Training Center, where guidance, warmth, humor, and teaching reached missionaries preparing for service around the world.
For 11 years, Edmunds served on the Relief Society General Board and strengthened women and families across a wide faith community.
Through books, talks, storytelling, and compassionate service, Edmunds offered comfort, encouragement, and hope to many people across generations.
