Richard DiMauro, 79, of Oxford, Connecticut, Dies After Friday Night Seymour Crash Near Great Hill Road and Southwest Road
Richard DiMauro, a 79-year-old resident of Oxford, Connecticut, died after a head-on crash in Seymour on Friday night, May 22, 2026.
The crash happened around 8:55 p.m. near Great Hill Road and Southwest Road in New Haven County and involved a 1930 Ford Model A and a Ford F350 pickup truck.
Seymour police identified DiMauro as the driver of the Ford Model A, and emergency responders found DiMauro unresponsive before taking DiMauro to Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Medical teams continued care, but DiMauro later died from crash-related trauma.
The Ford F350 driver survived and received treatment at Bridgeport Hospital for non-life-threatening harm, while officials did not release that driver’s identity.
Investigators remained at the scene for hours to document evidence, clear debris, and review what happened on the winding local roadway.
Authorities have not determined the cause, and the Seymour police investigation remains ongoing.
