Honoring United States Army Veteran And Educator Sgt. Mathew Oliver After A May 26, 2026 Memorial Fundraiser

Sergeant Mathew Oliver, a proud United States Army veteran and educator, has died after a long struggle with PTSD and private challenges.

Meghan McGee created a fundraiser on May 26th, 2026, on behalf of Kelsey Oliver to support funeral costs, grief care, household needs, counseling, and family stability.

The fundraiser reported $4,175 raised toward an $8K goal through 14 donations.

Mathew served honorably in the US Army Reserves with the 489th Civil Affairs Battalion, Delta Company in Knoxville, Tennessee, including one tour in Afghanistan before receiving an honorable discharge.

Mathew also taught at Harrison Bay Future Ready Center, where the post said Mathew mentored and encouraged many students.

Family, friends, students, and fellow veterans continue to remember Mathew as a devoted parent, loved family member, trusted friend, and caring mentor.

Details regarding memorial services and funeral arrangements will be announced later by family members.
