Scott Crabtree, Beloved Family Member and Army National Guard Veteran, Passes Away at 54, Leaving Loved Ones in Mourning

Scott Crabtree, 54, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 22, 2026, leaving family and friends deeply saddened.

Born on September 21, 1971, in Chance, KS, Scott was the son of Troy and Sandy Crabtree, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother Steve Crabtree of Yates Center, KS, and his sister Kimberli Dameron of Las Vegas, NM, along with three step-aunts: Liz Idell, Barbara Carter, and Fran Taylor of New Jersey.

Scott proudly served in the Army National Guard during the 1990s and was an avid fan of fishing, NASCAR, Rick Horn Racing, Humboldt Speedway, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Friends remember him for his love of community, sports, and spending time with family.

Cremation has taken place at Ozark Memorial Park Crematory in Joplin, MO, and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Friends and loved ones have expressed their condolences online, with many sharing heartfelt messages of support for Scott’s family during this difficult time.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been organized to assist with the costs of his memorial service, reflecting the care and love of those wishing to honor his memory.
