Tsehaynesh Elias Shanko Remembered After Passing In Irving, Texas, As Community Supports Family And Burial Plans In Ethiopia
Tsehaynesh Elias Shanko, a beloved family member who lived in Irving, Texas, has passed away after facing lung cancer.
Organizers Abebayehu Becho, Tamene Tessema, and Tesfaye Tona created a memorial fundraiser on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, to support the family.
The fundraiser reported $2,200 raised toward a $15,000 goal, with 13 donations and 0% completion listed.
Tsehaynesh supported a spouse, 3 children, and elderly parents, and the family now seeks help for burial arrangements in Ethiopia.
The family also thanked friends and Ethiopian Evangelical Baptist Church in Irving, TX, for staying close during this difficult time.
