William Neil Remembered As Retired Command Sergeant Major After Passing On May 16th Following Surgery Complications
William Neil, known to many as Bill, passed away suddenly on May 16th, 2026, from complications of a surgery related to injuries sustained while deployed.
A fundraiser created by David Dunbar on May 17th, 2026, honors the retired Command Sergeant Major and supports funeral costs and travel for loved ones.
The post states that Neil served the country for more than 20 years and completed seven tours during that service.
As of the post, the fundraiser had raised $2,500 toward an $8,000 goal through 13 donations.
Neil’s children and grandchildren planned to travel from Oklahoma to Colorado to arrange and attend funeral services, with friends and fellow paratroopers also expected from across the country.
Memorial service details, the obituary, and funeral information will be announced later by family members.
