Lucas Charles Warner, 26, Remembered After Three-Vehicle Highway Accident In Johnston County, North Carolina
Lucas Charles Warner, also known as Luke, died Thursday morning after a three-vehicle accident on U.S. 70 in Johnston County, North Carolina.
Warner was 26 and drove a beige 2013 Nissan Versa when a blue 2026 Toyota RAV4 struck the rear of the vehicle, pushing it into a state transportation truck.
Emergency crews responded, and authorities pronounced Warner deceased at the scene.
The Toyota driver and the state truck driver received treatment for minor injuries at UNC Health Johnston.
Warner previously played defensive line for the James Madison University Dukes in 2018 and 2019 as a freshman and redshirt freshman.
The JMU football program shared condolences and remembered Warner as a dedicated teammate and valued member of the campus community.
Local supporters also organized a meal train to assist Warner’s family during this difficult period.
Memorial and funeral service details will be announced later by family members.
