Makenzi Kern, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away on June 8, 2026, at the age of 26.
Makenzi was born on June 6, 2000, and will be remembered by family members, friends, colleagues, and others whose lives connected with Makenzi in meaningful ways.

Makenzi is survived by parents Teri Dietchler (David Dietchler) and Chris Kern (Lona Smart), sister Delani Kern (Chase Ahlers), boyfriend Alan Dungan, stepsiblings Kyleigh Austin (Desmond) and Alex Smart, and grandparents Meerl, Karen Bever, Bonnie Waters, and Chuck Kern.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home and Crematory.
